History

Founded in 1991, Machine O Matic has been serving Edmonton and area for over 17 years and has developed strong relationships with our customers in that time. Our history is built on the support of our valued customers and the development of excellent products that surpass industry and customer standards time and again. Our continued growth over the past 17 years serves as a testament to the success of our company, and of our customers.
1991 Machine O Matic Ltd. was founded. Our core business was built on rebuilding automatic transmission parts. Year 1: 5 employees
1993 Machine O Matic moved to a new location with a large stock of transmission parts, a manual lathe and hydraulic press. Our business began shifting towards production machining. Our equipment consisted of 1 CNC lathe, production cutting saw, manual mill, a manual lathe, and a radial arm drill press. Year 3: 9 employees
1995 Production machining gained momentum and we developed a reputation for quality machining and timely delivery. The demand for production machining in the oil industry increased so significantly that we began to phase out transmission parts. Year 5: 15 employees
2000 Machine O Matic became a complete production machine shop with 8 CNC machines and expanded the production facility in order to maintain reasonable lead times and satisfy the demand for machined parts. Year 10: 17 employees
2003 We continue to expand and grow, specializing in small parts manufacturing and also expanding into new industries (medical, instrumentation, sports, and recreation). We recently launched a new logo, website, and developed a comprehensive client servicing program. Year 13: 20 employees
2005 Our brand and website have strengthened our recognition internationally, attracting new clients and increasing the scope of our business, with a new manager of operations directing our company towards the future. Year 15: 20 employees
2007 To keep our competitive edge and to keep growing successfully within Alberta's hot economy, we must remain focused on hiring and retaining the best employees in the industry. Machine O Matic is now casting its recruiting net even further to find new and potential machining talent not only from Alberta, but from other provinces across the nation, including the Maritimes and Quebec. Year 17: 15 employees
